Several types of landscapes compose the commune of Gourbeyre which holds its name of a former governor. The coastal zone with the dynamic marina of Rivière Sens, the plateau de Valkaners, dominating several deep gullies and valleys, the forest belts of the massif of La Madeleine (in the north) and the Caribbean mounts (in the south) sites of pedestrian excursions, and the area of Dolé which famous sources of hot water made this commune for a long time a very important health resort.
