Lamentin has always been a soil for sugar cane culture and it still prevails today. This commune has however decided to turn to complementary activities. The industrial park of Jaula, the many places of touristic interest and its dynamism on the artistic level enables the Lamentin to have a constant development, in particular with the discovery of the circuit Karupture (monumental sculptures exposed outside). Just before arriving at the factory of Grosse Montagne (Large Mountain), a small road on the right hand side leads to the Thermal spa of Ravine Chaude, an exceptional place for relaxation, particularly appreciated by the Guadeloupeans.
