The one day circuits :
 

Cascade

 

North Basse Terre and the Cousteau Reserve cross the Salted River by the Pont de la Gabarre if you  come from Grande Terre. Visit the Domaine de  Séverin distilling in Sainte Rose. Go on towards the Caribbean Coast. Stop on the very beautiful Beach of Grande Anse in Deshaies. Then go to the Beach of Malendure and take a glass bottom boat for the underwater visit of the reserve " COUSTEAU ": you will be able to admire the life of fauna and flora in natural environment. Loan of masks and tubas for a bathe around the boat. Soft drinks will be offered on board. You can also try scuba diving, find the addresses of the clubs.


It is possible to have lunch on the beach.
After this meal, cross the tropical forest and National park, stop at the "Cascade aux Ecrevisses (Crayfish  Cascade ", pretty natural place in a luxuriant forest.
Return to your lodging.

Allée du Manoir

Soufrière and falls of the carbet You will go along the Atlantic Coast of the Basse Terre until Saint Sauveur, then, you will go in the hinterland by a small road crossing banana plantations and coffee-trees. You will enjoy a pleasant and easy walk on a pedestrian path, to discover the Falls of the Carbet running on the sides of the Soufrière : impressive flora, giant leaves and fern trees.


Then go to Basse Terre city, capital city of Guadeloupe; stop at its picturesque spices market and have a typical lunch. Go on towards Saint Claude to the Soufrière, where emanations of sulphur dioxides show that the giant is only sleeping.
Go back by the Windward Coast stopping to take pictures at the Dumanoir Alley in Capesterre Belle Eau and Sainte Marie on the place where Christopher Colombus landed.

 

Beach Marie Galante

Marie Gallante, departure from Pointe à Pitre, Saint François or Trois Rivières, for a crossing in fast shuttle, arrival at Marie-Gallante, commune of Grand Bourg, an island remained apart from time, where you can appreciate the quiet charm of the West Indies. You can do a guided tour of the island or hire a car. Visit the classified church, and the market.


Then go to the Habitation Murat (Murat Dwelling),the Eco Museum of Marie-Gallante, where you can  discover the history of the island. Visit of a distilling and taste the different products,of the beach of Capesterre,of the restored mill, of Gueule Grand Gouffre, and have a typical lunch, followed by a moment of relaxation on the beach Anse Cannot. Take the shuttle back to Guadeloupe.
