Trois Rivieres was probably one of the first places of settlement of the island. The archaeological park of the Roches Gravées, classified, is a spectacular proof of the precolombian presence in the West Indies (towards 400 after J.C.). The richness of the soil and the coolness of the climate allow to cultivate banana and various other cultures. The beautiful beach of Grand Anse is situated a few kilometers far.
